Maybe I should just learn C, code up a patch myself, and submit it.
Any experience wrt. how hard it is to get something included in Subversion?

Would this even be considered for inclusion?

(I'd hate to go through considerable trouble just to be rejected at
the door and having to maintain an out-of-tree patch...)
