Hello,
I have a bug report that is similar to one already posted on this list,
but I believe I may have more details to add to it. Please CC any
responses meant for this e-mail specifically to me, as I am not a member
of the list.
What I did:
------------
I have a project checked out(example) in the following directory:
C:\projects\Game. Right click context sensitivity works correctly when
I am in the C:\projects folder and I right click on the C:\projects\Game
folder. It gives me the options to SVN Update and SVN Commit. Within
C:\projects\Game I have a folder called \lib, so the path to this folder
is C:\projects\Game\lib. In the lib folder I have an assortment of
*.lib files, which I can right click on and correctly Update and
Commit. In addition to lib files I also have another SVN project
checked out into that folder called Engine.
Engine(C:\projects\Game\lib\Engine) is a completely separate project
from Game(C:\projects\Game), but I check it out within the lib folder
because it is a dependency. When I right click on the Engine folder the
bug occurs.
What I wanted to happen:
---------------------------
In version 1.1.2 and prior, I was able to right click on
C:\projects\Game\lib\Engine and have the menu correctly determine the
context. It would allow me to SVN Update and SVN Commit correctly.
What actually happened:
-------------------------
Since I updated to 1.1.3 the right click menu no longer detects the
correct context for the nested project Engine. Right clicking on
C:\projects\Game\lib\Engine only gives me the SVN Checkout at the top
level of the right click menu. It behaves as though I have not yet
checked out the project. All the options within the TortoiseSVN -> sub
menu also reflect the idea that I have no project checked out in this
folder. The Engine folder does in fact contain all of the .svn files and
all of my source, just as it did in version 1.1.2 where it functioned
correctly.
What I did to test it:
---------------------
I installed the stable release of 1.1.3, and had this problem. I
deleted the Engine project from within the C:\projects\Game\lib folder
and checked it out over again. Still gave me the wrong menu. I deleted
the engine C:\projects\Game folder and started over checking out both
the Game and the Engine projects fresh, same problem. Then I downloaded
the latest daily build and tried these above steps over again, and still
the same problem.
I did find that if I dragged the Engine folder onto my Desktop out from
beneath the Game project, I was given the correct options again in the
right click menu. As soon as I put the folder back, the bug reappeared.
I hope this helps you guys. I really appreciate all the hard work you
are doing on this tool. I use it every day at work all day long and I
absolutely love it.
Thanks,
Tam
