I have a PIII running at 700MHz with 384MB RAM under XP SP2.

I know that problem. Everyone trying to write an SCC plugin for any open
source versioncontrol system has the same problem :(

You mean suppressing any UI? Wouldn't it be easier to use the command
line client then?

That will be available with Subversion 1.2 which comes out this spring.
TSVN will have it too by then of course ;)
