What?

I was using diff tools before I even knew I needed version control!
Now I am talking about _diff_ tools and you mention _merge_ tools but I
think these are just different emphases on the same thing.

In short I'm sure that even if people who wanted merge tool wanted version
control they may not want either a gui or even svn...
