I'm glad to see that you got the problem solved.
Just one little warning: if you had to do a 'chkdsk /f' to get this
fixed I strongly recommend that you reduce the time between backups (you
_do_ backup your data, don't you?). And maybe you should buy another
harddrive and replace the one you have now. And again: backup your data!
Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. Two years ago, I found that
sometimes the system had a long time reading a relatively small file.
Then one evening, the OS crashed completely (which never happened
before). So I shut down the laptop, turned it on again and got a real
shock: the harddrive made a sound which I never heard before and
hopefully never will again. Turned out that I could throw away the
harddrive - it wasn't even recognized by the BIOS anymore. And yes, I
didn't have a recent backup, so all data was lost. You can imagine that
I didn't have a very pleasant weekend then...
So, you have been warned!
