It would be lovely if the installer would ask where I want to put the
shortcuts (ie, ask for a path), then remember/detect that on
subsequent installs and fill that choice in as the default.

I like to keep my start menu organised - instead of having a folder
for each company/application, I like to impose my own hierarchy on it
(eg, Internet stuff, Utilities, System Tools, Games etc) and slot
newly installed stuff into that.
