Did you reboot after renaming?

Hää? (translation: Sorry, what?) Seriously, I don't know what you mean
with status-coupling and the parent?

The easiest way to disable the overlays is to disable them in the
settings dialog for fixed drives (or whatever drive type your working
copy is located on).

Also, the next release will have some speed improvements which might help.
