I use MacPorts, but I build Subversion myself against the MacPorts
dependencies. So I have not installed Subversion itself via MacPorts
in a few years. I recall that JavaHL is either a +variant you have to
specify on the port, or it is in a separate port named something like
subversion-javahl that has to be installed. So I would start by
making sure you have the MacPorts JavaHL installed.

Back when I used MacPorts, it installed JavaHL into the Mac System
framework so you do not need to modify the eclipse.ini to use it.

I do not think I could give a more complete answer here than the one I
wrote in the wiki. Please read it again. It explains what JavaHL is
and how/why the native library does NOT come with Subclipse.

My guess is that the current MacPorts versions on Snow Leopard/Lion
create 64-bit binaries. Actually, they must since as I said I am
using MacPorts for my dependencies on my personal Lion install.
