The issue was not the SVN version it was that MacPorts built binaries
as 32-bit. The binaries were fine but if you are using a 64-bit JVM
you cannot load a 32-bit library. Are you using MacPorts? It does
not install in /opt/subversion

I assume you have a valid SVN 1.7 install? What is the error message
in Eclipse it usually has some details.
