If you do not have Subclipse installed, and have a workspace with
projects in it, then install Subclipse it is NOT supposed to
automatically connect any SVN projects.

If you have Subclipse installed and you start importing existing
projects into workspace (File > Import) then it should auto-share them
if they are SVN working copies.

It sounds like you had the former situation.
