How have they implemented it? Is the commit dialog modeless so you
can switch back to the IDE and open edit files or are they somehow
opened from the commit dialog?

If the dialog is modeless have they implemented some kind of change
listener so that files you edit are added to the already opened
dialog? If you revert local changes do they get removed from open
dialog etc?
