[Subclipse-users] What is this error message trying to tell me?

From: Steve Cohen <scohen_at_javactivity.org>
Date: Thu, 10 Dec 2009 13:14:49 -0600

org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: Attempted to lock an
already-locked dir
svn: Working copy C:\blah\blah\blah\command locked.

The "details" just repeat the same information.

This is how it came about.

I attempted to copy a directory and its one file from one place on the
directory tree to another in Eclipse. The from directory was already
version controlled. (My intention was to make some changes to the copy
of the file, then add it to Subversion and check it in). I've done this
before, without problem, even when the "from" directory has been added
to version control and the latter (of course) has not. The copy gets
done as a file system copy with the new directory and file not
affiliated yet with version control. But this time it copied the
version control information.

Not wanting to mess around with this, I attempted to delete the newly
copied folder and start over, but I was always getting error messages.
Finally, I exited Eclipse, deleted the directory, and came back in.
Created new directory from scratch and created new file and copied into
this new file what I needed to copy. Everything looked good, until I
tried to check the file in when I got this message.

How can I reset whatever the problem is?

Eclipse: 3.5
Subclipse 3.0.0
Subversion Client Adaptor 1.6.4.1
Subversion Java HL 1.6.6
Subversion Revision Graph 1..0.7
SVN Team Provider Core 1.6.5
SVNKit Client Adaptor 1.6.4

Thanks
