When I add my projects into the repository there are usually several folders I want to ignore, such as log folders, artwork, etc. But the option rarely is available on the context menu. It is usually available on the wwwroot folder, but usually not on any of the sub-folders or files.

You can only ignore something that is not already in the repository.
You also cannot ignore something if its parent is not in the
repository.
