RE: [Subclipse-users] Elicpse on Windows, newbie stuck with "Unable to load default client"

To your other comments, there really aren't any tools to get Eclipse to
work - the downloads from the Eclipse website should be complete
packages. And a remote repository (I think that's what you mean by
hosted subversion server) is very common - it's unlikely that's causing
this error.

I would do the standard operations, just to make sure you've covered all
your bases. I hope this doesn't sound too condescending.

1. Make sure you have the latest patches. Use the update site,
instructions are here if you haven't set this up:
http://subclipse.tigris.org/install.html You can double check that you
have the two required plug-in's installed - Subclipse & Subversion
Client Adapter.
2. If it's not too difficult, try checking out a fresh version of your
source into a new project. See if the error still happens on this copy
of the project.
3. You can do the same check as step two, but with a fresh workspace.
Once in a blue moon, I've had a workspace go bad on me, to the point
where I can't recover it.
4. You can also try the optional dependencies (it looks like you have
all the required ones), SVNKit Library, SVN Client Adapter, and JavaHL
adapter.
5. If you still have a bug, submit the stack trace from the error log
(workspace folder - .metadata folder - .log file), as clear steps as you
can to reproduce the problem, and the specific environment you're
experiencing the problem. The build numbers for all the Subclipse
related plug-ins (for example, SVNKit Library 1.2.0.4583) as well as
your operating system. Mark will probably let you know if you should
open a bug.

Good luck!

I didn't change anything else on my system, so I'm not sure if I
really need to install anything else or not? Like the subject says...
I'm not very experienced with setting up eclipse or knowing which
various tools I might need to make subclipse work.

I use a hosted subversion server (wush.net) if that makes any
difference?

Anyone have any suggestions for me to try?
