You do not need Buckminster. If you expand the update site (it is a
tree control) the site contains optional components. Were you a
Buckminster (or Mylyn) user you might want to install the plugin that
integrates Subclipse with those tools. But if you do not use those
tools, the expectation is that you will not select them.

The Eclipse Install/Update UI is terrible.
