[Subclipse-users] OK, I'm really confused. Why do I need buckminster?

Hi,

I've been happily using Subclipse on my desktop, and now I'm having
bizarre problems getting it to work on my laptop. I installed eclipse,
and then used the update manager to install subclipse from

http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.2.x

It complains that it need buckminster, (I don't see buckminster in
my other eclipse install, and it's working fine?)

So, fine, I install buckminster as recommended on the buckminster
page, and install subclipse from the above link at the same time.
But now I don't have any subclipse items in eclipse - it's like I didn't
install it at all. When I go into "manage configuration", it reports
that subclipse is installed just fine. But there's no other sign of
it anywhere. I've restarted several times.

I don't remember how I got subclipse working on the other box.
I remember it being not that painful.

Should I start over with a fresh eclipse install?

-Paul
