Thanks for the lengthy response and good explanation, much appreciated. It
still wasn't exactly clear which download I needed from the subversion
project; i.e. did I need the ones with bindings or not, etc.

But in the interest of future readers, all I did was download the
'svn-win32-1.4.4.zip', unzipped it and added the \bin directory from that
unzipped directory, and that got it working.
