[Subclipse-users] Getting odd error: "svn: Not in GZIP format"

On my Linux (RedHat) workstation:

Eclipse 3.3.1.1

When 1.24 Subclipse executes:
checkout -r HEAD http://www.mywebsite.com/myrepositoryurl

I am getting this response:
    svn: REPORT request failed on '/myrepositoryurl/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: Not in GZIP format

HOWEVER, it works in Windows XP.
