OK, but as a counter example, if you care about your current location,
then that it implies that it is one of the elements you want to compare,
and if you do Compare with -> Branch/Tag you can do it quicker. If you
use our custom branch/tag feature it can become really simple. See the
relevant doc:

This also gives you a graphical compare option.
