Well there are bug fixes for one. If you dump/load your repository you
can take advantage of the new svndiff1 format. Basically they use zlib to
do a little bit of extra compression on the repository data which makes
them smaller. Smaller files read faster. Depending on when your
repository was originally created, a dump/load might yield some other
performance benefits as well.

From a pure client compatability point of view, having your server at 1.4
is not an issue. Obviously there are risks in any new release. 1.4.1
will probably be out in a few weeks if you want to wait.
