        I've actually encountered this issue, and I'm able to reproduce it every
time. First, the prerequisite info:::
        * Linux (Debian) -- forwarded via X11 to SuSE Linux 10.1
        * Eclipse 3.2 (Callisto)
        * Subclipse 1.1.5
        NOTE: I've found the same problem running Eclipse directly from my laptop,
which is SuSE 10.0, running the same version of Eclipse + Subclipse. Haven't
tried on Windows, though it wouldn't be too much of a problem to do so.

Steps to reproduce:
        1.) in a version-controlled environment, create a new directory.
        2.) create a file beneath that directory
        3.) with the directory tree expanded, right click, Team -> "Add to Version
Control"

        The ".svn" directories show up immediately, and only disappear (as far as I
know) by restarting Eclipse. They do NOT appear, however, if the directory
is collapsed (so you can't see the files in it) until after commit. The
".svn" dirs also don't appear if the directory is empty upon addition.
