In most cases, the issue is likely that the Subversion library being used,
JavaSVN in your case, is not responding to the Cancel. I know more about
the internals of JavaHL, the native Subversion library, so I can use that
as an example. When it is using the http:// protocol it can get into
periods where it will not respond to a cancel request until it finishes
what it is doing. These libraries are always making improvements in
theses areas.
Finally, you should update to Subclipse 1.0.x. It has been out for over a
month. Eclipse will not show it to you because it considers the 0.9 ->
1.0 as a major version change. So you have to go through the first-time
install process again to get it installed.
