Maybe, but nothing with Synch is as easy as it sounds. Also, invalidating
the Synch could be fairly expensive for people working against remote
repositories. In the case of a dialog, what if they choose not to do it?
Then they still are in the problem scenario. Given the choice, I think I
would rather just update to HEAD, where the user has the option to still
update specific files they are working on to the specific revision they
see.

FWIW, for many releases the update in the synch view updated to HEAD and I
do not recall a single person ever noticing or raising it as a concern. So
at a minimum, it did not bite too many people.

I will not be making any changes this weekend anyway, so there is still
time for ideas.
