Yes, this is very obvious if you look at the project using the
Navigator.

It seems an sensible, ordinary thing to want to do. I don't mind the
package being "faked" by the package explorer, but the illusion that
it's a real package should be maintained as far as possible. I can
already delete this non-existent package via the "Delete" menu option. I
can drag stuff out of it and drop stuff into it. Why not be able to
rename it, too?
