[Subclipse-users] help with subclipse error message in the eclipse console

I'm running eclipse 3.1.2, subclipse 0.9.105, subversion 1.3.0
on OSX 10.4.4, all running under jvm 1.4.2_09.

From time to time, I will get the following message in the
eclipse console:

An error was encountered retrieving the Eclipse resource for: '/Users/
andy/work/svn/ageo/.metadata'.
The typical cause of this problem is that the case of the drive
letter and/or path of this file in Eclipse,
does not match the operating system. The value shown previously is
the OS path. The project may need to
reloaded into Eclipse with the correct path to resolve the problem.
This problem may effect several projects
but we try to send this message only once per session. This may only
effect the JavaHL SVN adapter.
See: http://subclipse.tigris.org/faq.html#path-case for background
information.

Sometimes this happens at startup. Usually, I'll see the
progress indicator in the lower right indicating that eclipse
is doing a build, is a 0%, and it never seems to get any
farther than that. A force quit of eclipse is usually necessary.

Now I often do things, like an "svn update", outside eclipse,
then start eclipse (with auto refresh selected in the prefs).
When there are changes, the above seems more likely to
happen.

If I can disable automatic builds, relaunch eclipse, and
then turn them back on, things tend to be fine again, for
that eclipse session anyway.

I've also seen this behavior after doing a "Clean" of all
projects and letting eclipse follow that by an automatic build.
I haven't had eclipse hang in this case, though.

Any thoughts on what the problem is here? Generally this
is not associated with eclipse failing to note that the projects
are under svn control -- the project list includes the svn path
in brackets after the name.
