resource history view unusable

Hello,

has it ever occurred to anyone that the resource history view is almost unusable
if a project is accessed over a non-local network connection? This is because
of the "affected paths" widget at the lower right, which is refreshed every
time the main selection changes, causing a rather tedious remote fetch
operation..
