The Eclipse installer is getting a Null pointer exception? I am not sure
what that could be. I have had problems though if I did not put the
contents in its own folder somewhere. So you could try that. Of course
also avoid things like spaces in the folder names, and also I know at one
time it did not support networked drives unless they were mapped with a
drive letter.

Other than that? File corruption of some kind?

If you open your web browser to:

http://subclipse.tigris.org/update/site.xml

You are looking at the same structure as your disk. You could try
individually downloading and replacing files using your browser until the
update site works. Presumably your browser does not have proxy problems.
