Add to Version Control fails

Hi

I've used Export to connect to an existing Svn repository shared over
HTTPS, and I've successfully added individual files (e.g. Makefile)
using Team-> Add to version control, but whenever I try this on a
subfolder (Resource Navigator or C/C++ Browser), I get:

"org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: can't located [sic]
versioned parent entry for '' "

Help! I can't get past this obstacle. "svn ls" on the server shows that
nothing has been committed (except, e.g., the Makefile).
