yeah, I didn't realise i had two API requests in for synchronize
classes. They only made the UI stuff API in 3.2

I am busy with other stuff at the moment, but will be able to work on
this in about two weeks time. It should be safe to use the internal API
as it won't change for at least 6 months.

btw, I have reviewed the line tracker patch and will commit it on the
weekend. I had to make a few changes and need to test it a bit more.
It still has trouble opening files that don't have an editor registered
for their extension and have a content type of 'text' (looks to be a
platform issue).
