I realize that development on the Eclipse 2.x version of Subclipse is
essentially dead. I do not disagree with this, it makes sense to develop
for Eclipse 3 and the new API's.
That being said, IBM's WebSphere Studio 5.x line is going to be with us for
a long time so it would be nice to have some updates to the Eclipse 2.x
version. This is what I would like to see:
1) Incorporation of new JavaHL versions as appropriate to stay current
with Subversion. I use Subclipse daily with a 1.1 server and have no
troubles. But what would happen if I was accessing a fsfs repository via
file:// ? I am not sure. On Windows, I think I would have trouble. It
seems like a fair number of people in the TortoiseSVN community are
considering using a file share to have a shared repository without using
Apache or SVN. fsfs allows you to do this fairly easily and it is a nice
option for a small team.
2) Minor updates where possible. I am fairly happy with what the Eclipse
2.x version provides. It would be great if the decorator performance
enhancements could be backported. Some of the other enhancements would be
nice, but I do not consider any of them essential.
3) Bug fixes as approriate. None come to mind.
Thanks
Mark
