In light of this imminent planning, i think an important step would be
to figure out how to compile javahl with svn linked in statically (as
the win32 version does). currently, it's completely dynamically linked
on linux, which won't really do in the long run, as it requires users
to have installed the same libraries I have installed, which isn't
particularly likely.

i've been trying for a couple of days, and i'm about stumped. if anyone
has any tips for me on this, please drop me a line!
