Heheh. It is totally my fault that you didn't take this with the humor that
was intended. A missing smiley face does more damage than one realizes
sometimes.

Seriously, I was kidding about the symlink thing. And not kidding about the
merit of your proposition. Also, not kidding about opposing any motion on
this in the near term. We needn't retroactively tweak our history just to
be exemplary. In fact, one could argue that moving trunk to branches/trunk
as a versioned event with an associated log message could do a better job of
demonstrating to the world that we cared enough to make such a change that
we'd be willing to deal with the rename-related fallout of the decision.

As for incomplete ideas, many who were at SubConf can attest to the sheer
number of times I (to my great personal embarrassment) had to respond to a
question with, "You know, I started to work on that some time ago, but..."
Alas, we all know the destination of the road paved with good intentions.
(I think it's a toll road, payable only in Round Tuits.)
