Goodbye for now

I've been no more than lurking on the dev list for some time now. I
have come to the conclusion that I cannot follow the discussion any
longer. I have too many things competing for my attention these days,
and I don't even have the time to simply delete the Subversion dev
messages. Rather than just quietly fade away, I thought I should at
least post a notice. I still use Subversion every day for $WORK and I
still want to support the project in some way, even though I don't have
time right now to do so.

Since I was nominally the one remaining person who had anything to do
with the Perl bindings, this means that they will not get fixed any time
soon. If things come to pass that I have some time, my long term goal
is to accomplish something like the Python ctypes bindings, using a
source-code scanner to directly create Perl bindings. But I am not in a
position to either work on this or even to speculate when I could begin
working on this.

Thanks for the great Subversion code and I have to say I have learned a
fair bit of programming by even peripherally participating here.

Thanks for all the fish!

John Peacock
