Looking at my IRC log Jeremy Whitlock is working on this issue:

The reason you see this is that 1.5 tries to root the ra session at the
common ancestor of all passed paths. (All origins and the target), while 1.4
opened the ra session at exactly the source and ancestors.

This regression is probably (guessing on my side) introduced by either:
* Allowing multiple sources for a single mv/cp
* Or by adding --parents support.

I think Jeremy will post a more detailed update later.
