Most of my files are managed by Subversion. I currently have a
working copy "wd", the remaining of my home being generated files
(and temporary files). It is important that I can do global things
like "svn update" and "svn status" at the root, in particular
because I have 5 accounts I use regularly.

Yes. Now, this doesn't occur very frequently on my files (but
I don't need merge tracking there).
