By the way, I just wanted to clarify (in case this is unclear) that
the svnserve and DAV-svn protocols are only documented for the benefit
of the Subversion developers and are liable to change arbitrarily, as
long as the higher-level compatibility requirements are still
maintained. So if you want to implement them yourself, that's fine,
but your code could stop working at any time.

(Not to belittle the rest of your points, contributions, or patch.)
