Public domain is fine. I was just frightened at the implication that
code committed to the Subversion tree might not all be licensed
consistently as a matter of implicit policy and perhaps would need to
be audited for that. But Karl makes it sound as though this policy is
in place - when you commit outside contrib, you implicitly declare that
you are licensing your code consistent with Subversion, or if you
aren't the author, then you know that is the author's wish - so I will
stop worrying now.
