Mark posted a separate mail about the 2897 work, and I'll follow up in
that thread regarding that. I just want to say here that branching
now does *not* imply a decision one way or the other on including the
2897 stuff in 1.5. We can merge it into the 1.5 branch if we want to.
But the main thing now is:
a) To free up trunk for some of non-1.5 work that has been waiting,
in particular the tree-conflicts branch
b) As David said, to start stabilizing 1.5, which will be much
easier to do on its own branch.
There will no doubt be some merges from trunk to the 1.5 branch, and
we're still free to decide whatever we want about 2897. But we really
need to free up trunk now, and to start stabilizing 1.5.
Wednesday morning sounds good to me!
