Sure, we have several test cases that demonstrate it working. :-)

I don't think getting the add before the delete is a *guarantee* it's
always going to work, just a prerequisite. Still, I'd like to debug
your scenario and see where/why the algorithm is failing to identify
dir/file as a candidate to move.
