I think these type of queries should go to
'users@subversion.tigris.org'. Having said that 'make:
***[subversion/libsvn_subr/libsvn_subr-1.la <http://1.la>] Error 1' is
not enough to say what could have caused the problem.
Following questions could help in coming closer to the solution.
1)What version of subversion?
2)config.log generated by the './configure' script.
3)Details of error(I suppose this to be a linker error of some sort).
