Can't grab FSFS txn list mutex...

Subversion Devs,

I'm writing a wiki-like Ruby on Rails application using Subversion as
the versioning backend. Everything's gone well up to this point, where
I'm running into weird errors and seemingly-random segmentation faults.

I don't want to get too specific on the above yet, as I'm not sure that
I need to, but I'd like (if possible) more information on a specific
error.

I seem to get the "Can't grab FSFS txn list mutex" error relatively
often, and I'd like to know what it means -- and possibly what I'm doing
wrong, and how I could work around it. I'm aware of this post
(http://svn.haxx.se/dev/archive-2006-10/0010.shtml), but I can't
decipher the meaning of the error within my own context (it seems the
only reference to it is code).

Can someone give me a good description about why I should get this
error, and what could (possibly) be happening that might cause it? I
don't want to cry bug yet -- I'm guessing that I have a lot to do with
it. (Did I see something about API violation?)

Thank you very much for any help you can provide. I'm very willing to
answer any questions you need, as well as provide code (warning, it's
pretty big) that seems to cause the error.

Thank again!
Tim Coulter

PS: Just to be explicit, I'm using version 1.4.3 of Subversion and the
Ruby Subversion bindings, on Ubuntu 7.04.
