[OffTopic] : Subversion Presenation @ NIT, WARANGAL (India)

From: Ramanathan Muthaiah <rus.cahimb_at_gmail.com>
Date: 2007-03-23 15:18:35 CET

Kindly excuse me for the double post.

Am not sure, it may be the first presenation on "Subversion" in an
Open Source workshop in India. The occassion was "National Open Source

Topic : Subversion for Beginners

1. Overview of subversion

2. Need for version control tool

3. Hands-on : creating repo, WC, adding new files, bulk import,
commit, branches, and tags

Presenter : Ramanathan (yes, it's me)

Audience : College students with minimal exposure to FOSS

Feedback :

Until now, we do not have the feedback results online but to be brief,
students liked the hands-on part of the session more than the slides.

They preferred / were interested GUI clients available for Subversion
but I could not cover them due to time constraints (mine was the last
topic of the day and was lucky to have an audience of ~25 given the
fact that there were three other workshops happening at the same time
and Cricket tournament).

Thanks to Subversion project, I got a chance to showcase (did my best)
one of the popular tools available in FOSS world.

P.S : Will be uploading the slides to SVN website to-night.
