If we merge this change now (which I have no real strong opinion
either way at this point), then I think it's prudent to push off
branching 1.4 for at a little bit longer - instead of at the end of
next week as I believe is currently planned. This can give us more
time to ensure we're as fast and as stable as we can be with this new
WC format instead of rushing it out the door. -- justin
