I meant I wanted an option for it to ignore whitespace so that, if a particular
line was changed in both the repository and the WC, it would not produce a
conflict if one of the changes is just a space change.

You're right that space changes can be significant. This is an important point
and I'll start a separate mail thread about it: "Ignoring space changes, but
not all space changes".
