I agree that this is worth having an issue about. Would you mind
filing one? If you do, please link back to this thread from the
issue.

The first mail above is from me, and agrees with the need to file an
issue. In Dale's response he didn't say anything about whether or not
he would file, and I failed to inquire again directly, that's how this
fell through the cracks. Thanks for picking it up again.

(I wish I could commit to fixing it right now, but I've already got
issue #2398 on my plate and a few other patches, oh well. Maybe
someone will grab it, it doesn't look too hard...)
