Thank you, Max Bowsher, for the issue tracker sanity!

We don't usually post here just to say "thanks". Everyone's always
doing something -- if we thanked each other all the time, this forum
would be very cluttered indeed.

However, every now and then a person performs some important but
thoroughly unglamorous task, the sort of thing one would ordinarily
call "a thankless task". One such is issue triage and sweep-up, and
Max Bowsher recently took it on. I think he must have touched 50 or
60 issues, resolving many as invalid, others as fixed (i.e., the fix
was in the code, but the issue didn't reflect it), and in some cases
asking the original reporter to give information. See issue #2340 for
an example of how he took the time to Do The Right Thing in each case.

This particular thankless task is too big to go unthanked, I feel.

Max, thank you! Going into the issue tracker is a much more pleasant
experience now.
