But it does seem like a better solution to the problem.

(1) Do either you or the poster in May have any active desire to not
accept IPv6 connections, or are you only really motivated by it breaking
your IPv4 listening?

(2) Doesn't --listen-host=127.0.0.1 solve your problem?

Forgive me if there's something I'm missing. "We should have an option
to disable feature X because it's causing a bug for people who don't
care about feature X" is not a very compelling argument; fixing bugs is
always preferrable to adding options.
