Oh ok - that's a shame. There has been some interesting discussion here
on this thread. Although I haven't contributed anything to that yet, I
have to own up to being very interested in getting this feature into
svn.

However I don't know yet how that's going to happen, so I have to ask
1) when does a discussion turn into a design,
2) when does a design become implemented, and by whom,
and
3) when does that implementation find its way into a release of
subversion ?

I realise that there must be many other features which may take
priority, and so my questions apply equally to any new feature being
considered.
