Leaving aside the question of GIT's hype ratio :-), do we have any GIT
users on this list? And if so, do they see anything there that we
ought to be looking into steal^H^H^H^H^H copying?

In general, let's not get caught in the success trap. Subversion is
rapidly becoming The Establishment (or, as Ben Collins-Sussman once
put it, "We are now The Man"). That's great, more power to us and all
that. But once in that position, it's easy to start dismissing
discontents, to start thinking that we don't have to learn from what
others are doing. Of course the rebels will disparage us :-), that's
to be expected. It doesn't mean everything they say is nonsense,
though.

(Brane, I'm just using your mail as a jumping off point; I know you're
not actually against learning from other systems.)
