Issue #2237

Hi,
  Was looking at ways to fix #2237....

  http://docs.python.org/lib/module-getopt.html
    says gnu_getopt would correctly parse a list of arguments intermixed
with arguments and non-arguments. But this works only if the
POSIXLY_CORRECT env variable is not set.

  I was wondering if it would be okay to fix #2237 with gnu_getopt().
